Know the Rules and When to Break them!

By Tobias Friedrich

A basic rule in underwater photography is to shoot upwards towards the surface. It's important to know when to stick to that rule and when to break it. This is especially true for wrecks like this plane in the Red Sea. It can create an interesting, new perspective of a subject by the way of the camera angle positioned slightly down towards the subject.  In this image, the Micro Wide Angle lens created a wide, rich blue ocean background.
